Pathway 2 IFCC Professional Development Sessions (English)

This training invites child care providers to reflect on the purpose behind their work and what they want their child care practice to stand for. Participants will explore their reasons and goals for becoming a child care provider and consider how these values shape the care they provide. They will compare and contrast mission and vision statements, learn how each can guide their practice, and create their own mission and vision statements that reflect their values, goals, and hopes for the children and families they serve.

Creating a safe environment is an important part of caring for young children. In this 2-hour session, providers will explore ways to prevent injuries, identify potential hazards, and use active supervision to keep children safe. Participants will learn practical strategies for creating safe spaces while allowing children to play, explore, and learn.

Strong partnerships with families help children thrive. In this 2-hour session, providers will explore practical ways to build trusting, respectful relationships with families, communicate effectively, and work together to support each child’s development and well-being. Participants will learn simple strategies they can use to strengthen family engagement in their child care practice.
