Sessions

Session Select Instructions
Monday, May 18th 5:30pm - 7:30pm

In this course, providers will explore what it means to be a professional family child care provider. They will learn how to strengthen their sense of professionalism, use goal-setting and reflection to improve their home-based care, and understand the importance of self-care in their daily practice.

Thursday, May 28th 6:00pm - 8:00pm

The goal of this training is to help providers build strong observation skills within their home-based settings. Participants will learn how to observe children in everyday routines, document behaviors objectively, and use observations to better understand each child’s development. The training will also explore how to reduce bias and use observations to inform responsive, individualized care.

Saturday, June 13th 10:00am - 12:00pm

The goal of this training is to help providers understand the importance of consistent routines in supporting young children’s growth and development. Participants will learn how predictable daily schedules create a sense of security, promote positive behavior, and support social-emotional and cognitive development. The training will also explore how to create and adapt routines that meet the needs of children in home-based care settings.

Saturday, June 20th 12:00pm - 2:00pm

This session will help providers design safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate environments, indoors and outdoors, that reflect children’s backgrounds, foster a sense of security and belonging, and support learning through engaging activities and play.
